23 January 2026

Teenage entrepreneurs and young creatives will be showcasing their talents at two upcoming Teenage Market events in Poulton-le-Fylde and Garstang, bringing fresh energy, creativity and community spirit to Wyre this February.

Teenage Markets held in Cleveleys and Fleetwood in December 2025

The first event will take place on Saturday 7th February at the Teanlowe Shopping Centre, Poulton, delivered in collaboration with Booths Supermarket. The event will give local young traders a free opportunity to showcase their wares, which includes a range of Valentine’s-themed gifts and handmade products, including cards, upcycled handbags, jewellery and crochet plushies.

The second Teenage Market will take place on Saturday 21st February in Cherestanc Square, Garstang from 10am–3pm. This event will welcome young entrepreneurs selling items such as hand-designed coasters, personalised mugs, handmade jewellery, 3D prints, crochet handbags and live portrait artwork. In addition to the market stalls, the day will also feature free interactive art activities and live performances in the square, creating a lively and inclusive event for the whole community.

The Teenage Market has already proven popular across Wyre, with 14 year-old trader Lucy Drewe-Smith saying,“I found taking part in The Teenage Market in Cleveleys a really positive experience. I ended up making around £160 and came away feeling much more confident in myself. It was great to meet other young people with the same mindset.”

Other young traders, including 14 year-old Claudia and 18 year-old Rebecca, praised the opportunity to be part of a creative community, that helped them develop communication skills, be independent and grow their small businesses.

Speaking about the upcoming events, Scarlet Barratt, the National Events Co-Ordinator for The Teenage Market said:

The Teenage Market is all about shining a light on the creative talents of young people, and were extremely excited to bring these two events to the communities of Poulton and Garstang, following our two events in Cleveleys and Fleetwood last year. We’d encourage any young people who are interested in taking part to sign up through our Teenage Market website and look out for more events to be involved with in the future.”

Nic Karran, Head of Business Development and Hospitality at Booths, said,“Booths are proud to support The Teenage Market by giving young entrepreneurs from the area an opportunity to trade in the Teanlowe Shopping Centre. We wish all the young people involved in the event all the best of luck”.

Ian Sewart, Chair of Garstang Town Trust, said, “Garstang Town Trust are very keen to encourage young people to become active in trading local produce or goods they have made. For this reason we fully support this young persons event and wish them every success. We will be encouraging people to attend and see what’s on offer.”

Councillor Peter Le-Marinel, Portfolio Holder for Planning Policy and Economic Development at Wyre Council, said:

Encouraging entrepreneurship and creativity among young people is vital for Wyre’s future economy. The Teenage Market provides an excellent platform for aspiring traders to develop their skills, gain real-world experience, and showcase their talents. Following on from the success of Teenage Markets in Fleetwood and Cleveleys at the end of 2025, these events not only support our young entrepreneurs but also bring vibrancy and innovation to our local high streets.”
