Booths wins Drinks Buying Team of the Year

Booths has won “Drinks Buying Team of the Year” at the Drinks Retailing Awards 2026. Held on February 3 at The Dorchester Hotel in London, the Drinks Retailing Awards gathered top industry professionals to celebrate the best retailers in the drinks business.
Booths was praised for its highly engaged, category immersive buying team that “clearly cares” and delivers a distinctive drinks proposition for its regional shopper base. Judges highlighted its close producer relationships, willingness to take risks and the sense that Booths buyers are genuinely hands-on with range development. Its offer feels curated, premium and local-minded.
The team comprises of Wine buyer Victoria Anderson, Sparkling Wine buyer Rachael Machin, Beers and Spirits buyer Pete Newton and Category buying manager Simon Drury, buying assistant Gail Jordan, and supply chain analysts Leah Pilkington and Heidi McKenna.

Booths secured the award against big national competition, beating Sainsburys and Waitrose, the judges praised the Booths offer for punching above its weight.
