£1.3m Investment to transform Fleetwood’s Marine Hall
Wyre Council is moving into the next phase of improvements at Marine Hall in Fleetwood, with plans to invest £1.3 million to bring a key part of the venue back into use and expand what it offers to residents and visitors, following approval by Wyre Council’s Cabinet.
The redevelopment of the Waterfront Bar and kitchen will transform an underused area into a vibrant, flexible space, creating new opportunities for community use, events and daytime activity on the promenade.
The investment will deliver:
- A new promenade-facing café and licensed bar with outdoor terrace
- A second performance and community space
- Improved accessibility, including upgraded facilities
- Modern, energy-efficient upgrades to the building
- Increased capacity and improved visitor experience
Together, these changes will make Marine Hall a more active, inclusive and year-round destination supporting both community life and the local economy.
This marks the next stage of work to secure Marine Hall’s long-term future, focusing on practical improvements that increase how the space is used and the value it brings to Fleetwood.
Councillor Lynne Bowen, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Health and Community Engagement, said:

The new café/bar and flexible event space will attract more visitors throughout the day and evening, helping to:
- Increase footfall along the promenade
- Support local businesses and tourism
- Provide new opportunities for community activity and events
- Strengthen Marine Hall as a key destination in Fleetwood
The plans respond directly to feedback from residents, including calls for a seaside café offer, ensuring the venue continues to evolve to meet local needs.
Alongside the redevelopment, essential roof improvement works will help protect the building and improve energy efficiency ensuring it remains fit for the future.

This investment is about creating places people can use, enjoy and feel proud of, bringing more activity to the waterfront and strengthening Marine Hall’s role at the heart of the community. The decision is now subject to the council’s call-in period.
