Join wine merchant extraordinaire Rob Bagot, from Buon Vino and our very own head chef Oli Martin, to sample and evening of delights, on 17th May, for what promises to be an insightful evening of fine Italian wine and modern British cuisine with a twist…

Martin one of the North West’s leading emerging chefs, already with three AA rosettes to his name, will prepare a six-course tasting menu to accompany six wines from the Cinque Campi vineyard specially selected for the evening by Rob.

From 7.00pm Rob will talk to guests about his wine choices for the evening and offer an insight into his passion for Italy’s artisan wine producers, especially for his latest discovery Cinque Campi (Five Fields) …

This 200-year-old vineyard in the foothills of the Reggiano Appennine Mountains in Emilia-Romagne region of north eastern Italy produces truly sensational wines…

Before 1980 the family only produced wines for themselves, however, after much careful thought they decided to share what they were producing with the rest of the world…

By 2005 they had taken steps to reintroduce historic and rare vine varieties, which allowed the family to continue to diversify and create the high quality original wines they produce today. By using native grape varieties like Malbo Gentile and Spergola; as well as varieties, such as Lambrusco Grasparossa, Marzemino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Muscat and Carmenere they have created the ultimate in buon sangue…
