August – Another Record Breaking Month for

2 September 2014, the official tourism website for Lancashire, has had another amazing month attracting more people and breaking all previous records for monthly web visits this August.

The site reached a record-breaking 171,549 unique visitors* in August 2014 (+25% increase on August 2013)

In total the site received 259,525 visitors** (+34% increase on August 2013) who viewed over half a million pages 635,581 page views*** (+15% increase on August 2013).

Definitions –

Unique Visitors*

Defines a single person who visits a website any number of times in a fixed time frame, typically a 30 day period. For example, one unique visitor might make several separate visits to a website over a number of days, but will only be counted once.


A visit, on the other hand, is recorded every time that single person visits a website.

Page views***

A pageview is counted each time a visitor views a different page on your website.
