Can you offer excursions for international visitors?

15 June 2018

Marketing Lancashire is working with Marketing Manchester to develop a set of Lancashire excursions for international visitors. The idea is to encourage people arriving at Manchester Airport and staying in the city to get out and explore North West England. The excursions are for independent travelers who are happy to get around by train, local bus and taxi, as well as escorted groups travelling by coach.

Three excursions have been developed:
• A day excursion to historic Lancaster
• A day excursion to Carnforth and Morecambe
• A two-day excursion on the theme of food and drink to the Ribble Valley.
In addition, a day excursion to Blackpool featuring the Big Ticket has been launched and is already on sale.

Several operators have stepped forward to be part of the excursions including accommodation providers, attraction owners, restaurants, pubs and driver guides. We are now looking for additional operators who can offer their services and facilities. Ideally you will:
• Be happy to work with tour operators, destination management companies or coach operators on a commission or net rate basis
• Have some capacity to accommodate groups – large and small
• Be accessible by public transport and/or able to accommodate coaches
• Open year round and most weekdays or willing to open outside of your usual days/times
• Have something special or different to offer the visitor such as a paid for tour, tasting, activity or VIP experience.

You must be located in one of the following areas: Clitheroe and the surrounding area, along the Tolkein Trail, Carnforth, Morecambe, the Lancaster Canal between Carnforth and Hest Bank and Lancaster.

If you are interested in getting involved please contact:
