Grow your business with Rosebud Micro

20 February 2015

Lancashire County Council wants to support businesses from the financial and professional services sector to create new jobs in the county.

The sector has been identified by the county council as one with high-growth potential.

County Councillor Niki Penney, chair of Lancashire County Developments Ltd (LCDL), said: "If you're looking to grow your business, the county council's Rosebud Micro finance could help your growth ambitions.

"Companies sometimes need extra funding to support their big idea. Rosebud Micro can be used to support your business – whether it's to develop a new product, to buy new equipment, recruitment or to help open up new markets.

"We have sector-specialists who can offer support and advice, which helps to flag up opportunities for your business.

"Finance from Rosebud Micro could be the answer to unlocking new funding for your business, as it can be matched with other finance and used to help to attract other sources."

One company from the finance and professional services sector recently helped by Rosebud Micro is Forbes Watson, an accountancy and business advice practice based in Lytham St Annes.

It was set up in August 2012 by Simon Cox, a chartered certified accountant.

He said: "Our finance from Rosebud Micro will be used to develop and market a new product called 'Snap and Save' – a way to take a photo of your receipts and upload it to your financial accounts, so that they are up to date and you have good financial control of your business.

"We're pleased that the development of 'Snap and Save' is anticipated to create new jobs."

Through Rosebud Micro, companies in Lancashire could get from £10,000 to £49,000 to support their plans.

Rosebud Micro is accessed through Access2Finance on behalf of LCDL – the county council's economic development department.

Councillor Penney continued: "As well as funding your growth ideas, Rosebud Micro also includes complimentary support and advice that's tailored to the needs of your business. You'll get hands-on support including half-yearly meetings with sector specialists – which we know was valued by businesses we've already helped."

Rosebud Micro is aimed at growing business in these key high-growth sectors – creative and digital; finance and professional; energy and environment; aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

Rosebud Micro can link you in with other support services related to your business including universities, UKTI, the London Stock Exchange, Regenerate Pennine Lancashire, Boost, The Design Council, Access2Finance, district councils and Creative Lancashire.
