Lancashire Business Week returns for 2021

23 September 2021

A week-long programme of networking, debates, inspirational talks and celebrations will take place in December as Lancashire Business Week returns for a second year.

From Monday December 6 to Friday December 10, businesses of all sizes and sectors are invited to take part in the series of activities, organised to enable organisations to debate the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for the county, to meet with new businesses around the county and to be inspired by stories of innovation and success.

A range of guest speakers will share their stories and insights, with names to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Themes covered throughout the week will include recruitment and retention, health and wellbeing, leadership and change, celebration and aspiration, and an in-depth look at Lancashire’s core offering in a post-pandemic economy.

There will be four events broadcast live online, leading up to an in-person event held on the Friday.

This is the second time a week-long programme has been organised to celebrate Lancashire businesses, following in the footsteps of Lancashire Business Day, which first took place in 2017.

Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View magazine and founder of Lancashire Business Week, said: “Last year was the first time we expanded from a single day of activities to a full programme of events.

“Despite the pandemic and lockdown, our extended programme proved immensely popular with businesses of all descriptions from across the red rose county. So now we’re excited for this year’s events, which promise to build on those foundations, and we can’t wait for the grand finale where we can all get together and celebrate this fantastic county and our achievements of the last year.”

Chorley-based law firm CG Professional is supporting the week as headline sponsor.

Stacey Turner, CG managing partner, said: “Lancashire Business Week has become an important fixture in the business calendar and the opportunity to be headline sponsor made complete sense to us once again. CG Professional has gone from strength to strength over the past four years winning numerous national clients, but Lancashire will always remain a key focus for us and we’re proud of our Lancashire roots.

“Lancashire has some of the finest businesses and has always had a reputation for being progressive and forward thinking and nurturing the best talent, values CG totally aligns with. For CG to be sponsoring this celebration of the county sitting alongside some of Lancashire’s finest businesses is an honour and it’s great that we can have an in person event this year. Lancashire leads by example, and we need to be at the forefront of ensuring the economy continues to move forwards at pace in Lancashire – CG are here to play our part in that.”

Video production firm Bigtank, Burnley College, Burnley Council, and accountants and business advisors Beever and Struthers are all patrons, and support organisation Boost is social media partner.

Neil Burrows, assistant principal at Burnley College, a Lancashire Business Week Patron for the second year said: “We’re delighted to support Lancashire Business Week 2021 – it’s a real highlight in the calendar for us and a great opportunity to celebrate the strong links we have with the region’s top employers.

“Industry is at the heart of so much of life here at Burnley College, from training the region’s top Apprentices to students solving real-world industry problems and our mission to ensure the workforce of today – and tomorrow – have the very latest skills and knowledge.”

There are further options to get involved from a commercial or sponsorship perspective, with the events providing an excellent platform for promoting your brand to a county-wide business audience. Contact [email protected] to find out the options are available to suit your marketing objectives.
