Lytham Chari-tee Golf Day Open For Entry

24 February 2015

Organisers of the St George’s Day Charity Festival have revealed that the 2015 golf tournament will take place at St Annes Old Links.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, also held at the same course, teams of four are being urged to enter the competition taking place on St George’s Day – Thursday 23 April 2015.

The £250 entry fee per team includes soup, sandwiches and free entry to the festival comedy night later that day.  First tee is at 9am, with a shotgun start.

All events taking place during the St George’s Day Charity Festival will raise money for the 2015 beneficiaries – ABF, The Soldiers’ Charity, Trinity Hospice and The Boathouse Youth.

Bob Gallagher, festival chairman, said: “Even though the festival has been going for six years, last year was our first golf tournament and it went down so well that we’ve brought it back again this year.

“Whether you’re a budding Rory McIlroy or simply like to play in your spare time, the St George’s Day Charity Golf Tournament provides the perfect opportunity to do something you enjoy and socialise with other golf enthusiasts, whilst also raise valuable funds for three fantastic charities.”

First to sign up for the tournament was the event’s main sponsors, Reddish Vale Insulations Ltd.

Roy Tindall, managing director at the firm said: “We’ve heard a lot about the St George’s Day Charity Festival and the golf day will be a great way to network with other local businesses and raise money for three great charities.”

Prizes up for grabs on the day include best individual score, nearest to the pin and longest drive.
