SoLita Preston Set to Open

12 July 2016

Solita, one of Manchester’s most popular bar and grill restaurants is set to open the doors to its eagerly awaited fourth venue, SoLIta Preston on Friday 29th July. This follows a soft launch period where 50 members of staff mostly from the Preston area will fine tune and test the restaurant's kitchen and facilities.

With a nod to its Manchester sisters, SoLIta Preston on Winckley Square has been designed with stunning feature lighting, bright colourful accents and flashes of neon. Luxurious banquettes, booths and tables and chairs provide 200 covers over two floors, a private dining room that caters for a 50 and a large alfresco dining area will open before the end of the summer too.

Bespoke artwork commissions adorn walls on both floors; ground floor from world renowned Manchester illustrator Stan Chow, the official illustrator for New Yorker magazine. The lower floor features a Preston themed 10 metre wall mural by world famous most muralist and graffiti artist Russell Mehan.

The menu echoes favourites found at their Manchester restaurants, signature burger creations such as the Manc-Hattan and grain fed Angus steaks feature with new burgers expected to be announced on opening day.

Solita listed in the Good Food Guide and also winner of Daily Mirror’s Best Burger in the UK title will be launching an extended menu for Preston which includes more grill items, summer salads and an extensive new cocktail list.

Co-owners Franco Sotgiu and Simon Pogson opened SoLIta on Turner Street, Manchester in 2012, aiming to deliver an American grill with a dash of Italian flair. Less than four years on, SoLIta has firmly established itself as a hit with diners and social media loving foodies. In fact many of the invitations to the pre-opening party on July 27th were given to fans that entered a competition to win an invite via Twitter and Facebook. The lucky winners will attend the party alongside friends, family and SoLIta’s new commercial and residential neighbours. The event will raise money for 2 local charities, The Foxton Centre and The Space Centre.

Commenting on the forthcoming launch, owner, Franco Sotgiu said:
“We’re excited; at last we’re almost here. We took our time, hoping to get it just right. We had to completely gut the kitchen and the interior has been transformed. As for the food –we’ve added to the menu, which we know is loved in Manchester but we wanted to add a lighter touch too. Of course we’re looking forward to bringing our burgers to Preston and we have some exciting new ones to reveal as we open. We’ve been busy in the development kitchen too, so watch this space.”
