The Wellbeing Farm – Licence to Wed

14 January 2016

The Wellbeing Farm in Edgworth, Lancashire has just been approved to hold Civil Ceremonies!

Although the farm has been around for generations and is owned by the Whitehead Family, the farm was transformed in April 2013 from a neglected farm into a multi-award winning facility and started running weddings in late 2014.  Last year the Wellbeing Farm enjoyed fantastic growth in wedding bookings from two weddings booked in January 2015 to 75+ by the end of 2015 and the venue has recently been nominated  as a TOP TEN finalist in the category of: Great Northern Wedding Awards 2016 – Best Wedding Venue – without accommodation.

The farm’s unique rustic features and quirky characteristics which include its own Cookery School, Family Butcher’s and bow-tie wearing Llamas have found a niche in the wedding market – offering exclusive rustic weddings.

Last year the farm doubled its size creating bespoke wedding facilities which included converting a former horse arena and stables in a new bar area, toilet facilities and an additional kitchen! The Wellbeing Farm is now fully booked for weekend weddings in 2016 but has availability for mid-week weddings with guests experiencing an authentic barn atmosphere which can cater for up to 260 guests.

As well as employing around 20 young local people, the great news is that local accommodation providers in Edgworth are also benefitting from the demand for weddings at the farm, so the new attraction is great for the local community.

The Wellbeing Farm will be hosting a series of Wedding Open Days throughout January 2016 and a Wedding Fair on the 3 April 2016 and to celebrate the granting of its licence, the farm is also running a competition – the first 10 brides to book a wedding in January 2016 will be entered into a prize draw to win a Cheese Celebration Wedding Cake valued at £600!
