Venues announced for Chorley Live

26 August 2015

ORANISERS of the popular Chorley Live event can now announce the venues taking part in this year’s live entertainment extravaganza.

Chorley Council has teamed up once again with The Creative Network to hold the weekend event which has proved to be a massive hit for the last two years bringing over 5,000 people into the town over the two days – and this year even a bank is taking part.

The new venues taking part this year are the Royal Bank of Scotland on Market Street, the new Havana Brasserie on Fazakerley Street, The Kitchen Theatre on Peter Street, and the Bay Leaf Indian restaurant which will be opening soon on Market Street.

Councillor Peter Wilson, Deputy Leader of Chorley Council, said: “Chorley Live has been a huge success over the last two years and we want to make it even bigger and better this year.

“We have a number of new venues this year and we are really looking forward to seeing the turnout and how people enjoy the different performances in such a wide variety of locations across the town centre.

“It’s particularly good to see a couple of new businesses taking part and I hope this will give them a great start to life in Chorley.”

The bigger venues such as the Town Hall and Chorley Library will also be involved again this year, along with bars and pubs including the Rose and Crown, Last Orders, the Prince of Wales and Applejax. The event will be taking place on Friday 2 – Saturday 3 October, with performances at 7pm, 8pm 9pm and 10pm.

People will be able to gain entry to all the venues over both days using a wristband that costs £5 and can be purchased prior or at the event, with children under 12 having free access with adults. Wristbands go on sale at the start of September.

Nigel Stewart, of the Creative Network and who will be organising the acts, said the event brings the town centre alive at night.

“I have been staggered with the success of Chorley Live over the past two years: we got so many positive comments about how great it is and how brilliant the atmosphere is in the town” said Nigel.

“It’s fantastic to see how many businesses are happy to offer themselves as venues, and how it’s bringing companies together to show they are willing to get involved with the event and promote the town.

“We have been inundated with acts wanting to take part and I think that shows the popularity among the creative community in Chorley.”
