The Lancashire Bombers U17 Flag Football team has been crowned the best in Britain, earning the title of UK Champions after a spectacular run at the National Finals in Manchester.

Hosted at the Platt Lane Sports Complex, the event brought together elite youth teams from across the country for an unforgettable festival of flag football.

Based in Oswaldtwistle, the Bombers’ triumph in Manchester caps off an extraordinary season that began with another major victory north of the border. In February, the Bombers were named Scottish Flag Football Champions for the second-year running, following their dominant performance in the Scottish Winter League in Motherwell.

The team, made up of talented girls and boys aged 14 to 17, has impressed both domestically and internationally.

Nine players earned places in the Great Britain U17 Development Squad, with three of them invited to the prestigious NFL Academy Trials. This summer, nine Bombers’ players represented Great Britain at the European Championships in Austria, and last month, they helped lead the national side to victory at the British National U17 Championships.

Head Coach Russ Bury said: “This team has done something truly special. To see how far they’ve come, the dedication they’ve shown and the success they’ve earned, it’s beyond my dreams.”

The club’s achievements have cemented its reputation as one of the leading youth flag football programs in the UK. The Lancashire Bombers also field adult teams and welcome new players of all levels to get involved.
