Cast Announced for Blackpool’s Christmas Carol

The full cast has been announced for A Christmas Carol at Blackpool Opera House.

As previously announced, Paul Nicholas will play Ebenezer Scrooge for the four-week run of the musical from Friday December 4 until Sunday January 3.

Paul will be joined by Tom Bright (Ghost Present), Christopher Howell (Marley), Daniel Cane (Bob Cratchit), Matt Harrop (Mr Smyth/Old Joe/Scrooge Father), John Addison (Fred Anderson/Judge), Steve Varnom (Fezziwig/Beadle), Oli Reynolds (Young Ebeneezer/Charity Man), Will Keith (Young Marley/dancer), Ashley Luke Lloyd (Male swing), Corrinne Priest (Ghost Christmas Past/Lamp Lighter), Sarah Mahoney (Mrs Cratchit/Charity Man), Joanna Lee Martin (Mrs Fezziwig/Mrs Mops), Laura Banazaize (Emily/dancer), Elizabeth Futter (Sally/Scrooge’s mother), Laura Wilson (Female swing/Blind Hag).

Produced by Peter Frosdick, Charles Dickens' classic tale will receive the full Broadway treatment by the creative team of Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid) Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical) and Mike Okrent (Crazy for You, Me And My Girl).

Called by the New York Times 'A Tonic for Adults' and for children 'A Transfixing Journey' this spectacular musical extravaganza ran for ten years at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Speaking about the casting Peter said: “We have a great cast for A Christmas Carol and we are all very excited about creating a magnificent Christmas production in Blackpool.

“This show has enjoyed tremendous success previously and we are confident this is going to be a great run in Blackpool.”
