Dobson and Beaumont, a precision engineering company based in Appleby Street, Blackburn, takes a significant step towards community involvement by becoming a Bronze Patron of Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone. This decision reflects the company’s dedication to supporting local initiatives and fostering the development of young people within the community.

Established in 1917 by Thomas Dobson in Morton Street, Blackburn, Dobson and Beaumont has evolved from its metalworking roots to become a thread-rolling specialist. Renowned for precision manufacturing of parts for Formula One racing cars and various engineering components, the company has become synonymous with high-quality production.

The torch was passed through generations, with Philip Dobson leading the company for 50 years. In 1978, the company underwent a merger to form Dobson and Beaumont, and in 2021, it experienced a management buyout, marking a new chapter in its storied history.

Richard Guest, the Managing Director of Dobson and Beaumont, expressed his delight:

“We are delighted that Dobson and Beaumont will be able to contribute to the next generation of the Blackburn and Darwen community through the incredible work of the Youth Zone. Our commitment to supporting local initiatives and youth development aligns with the mission of Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone, and we are honoured to play a role in their impactful programs.”

Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone is a local charity dedicated to providing over 60 hours of services to young people, especially during school closures. With more than 4,500 members benefiting from their programs, the charity operates from a state-of-the-art centre in Blackburn, a satellite site in Darwen, and within the community, catering to individuals aged 5-19.

Wayne Wild, Chairman of Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone, expressed his gratitude, saying,

“The support of local businesses such as Dobson and Beaumont plays a vital role in the success of Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone. We are extremely grateful for their dedication and look forward to collaborating with them to improve the lives of young people in our borough. This partnership demonstrates Dobson and Beaumont’s dedication to corporate social responsibility and their belief in the importance of supporting the youth in the area. By becoming part of the Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone network, Dobson and Beaumont is eager to make a positive impact on the local community and help young individuals achieve brighter futures.
