Coffee chain, easyCoffee, has continued its expansion across East Lancashire with the official opening of a store at Darwen Leisure Centre on Thursday 9th August.

Founded by easyJet tycoon Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, easyCoffee first launched in the UK in 2016 with two sites in London at Earls Court and Oxford Street.

easyCoffee opened stores in Blackburn and Burnley in 2017, with Blackburn’s being the first outside London.

easyCoffee’s Northern stores have been a runaway hit with locals since opening, and there are high hopes the same will come from the new Darwen café.

CEO Nathan Lowry said: “easyCoffee has been popping up all over London with shops in Covent Garden and Leicester Square and now in Blackburn, Burnley, Hastings, Edinburgh…. finally, we have landed in Darwen!

“We are just so chuffed to have found the right location with plenty of seating, free Wi-Fi, a kid’s play area and a friendly local team, and cannot wait to be a part of the neighbourhood!

“I am personally looking forward to meeting the locals and giving them a great product at a great price!”

Cllr Damian Talbot, Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Executive Member for Leisure and Culture, said: “It’s great to see that a company with a national and profile is investing in Darwen, bringing a real boost to the area and creating employment opportunities locally.

“We wish them every success.”
