Lancashire chocolatier wins coveted Great Taste awards

2 August 2023

Great Taste, the world’s most coveted blind-tasted food awards, which celebrates the very best in food and drink, has announced the Great Taste stars of 2023.  Out of almost 15,000 products to be judged, Choc Amor of Lancashire was awarded 4 Great Taste Awards.

Salt & Pepper 48.5% 2 Star.  Described by the judges as a delightfully balanced bar which creates a truly memorable result with interest and length.  Highly moreish, this has been a very successful pairing producing very tasty and unusual chocolate bar.

Thai 7 Spice 61% 2 Star.  Lovely, smooth chocolate with a cleverly subtle and thought-provoking flavour profile.

Sea Salted Nibs 61% 2 Star. A nicely subtle snap then an interesting, slow release of flavours. A bit of a grower!

Hazelnut Praline 41% Milk 1 Star.  A pleasing reinvention of gianduja with lovely crunchy texture provided by the nuts and nibs

‘Putting your products to the test with the Great Taste panel of over 500 experts is a quick way to get honest, straightforward, and impartial feedback from chefs, buyers, food writers and retailers.  Whether your product receives a 1, 2 or 3 star accolade, Great Taste stars are highly respected seals of approval.’

Paul Williams, Head Chocolatier said

“We honestly had considered not entering the Great Taste awards this year but thankfully had a last-minute change of heart! Three 2 Star Awards & a 1 Star is the best news ever and we are blown away.  It’s always joyful to get good feedback from our customers but winning these awards is further reassurance that we’re doing it right.  Our awards tally is now over 58 including Great Taste Awards, Academy of Chocolate Awards, International Chocolate Awards – British Finals & World Final.”
