Over £6m to be invested in communities through South Ribble Borough Council’s Jubilee Gardens development

Development that gives back – the new Jubilee Gardens extra care project in South Ribble is set to deliver numerous benefits to the wider community, including job creation and employment and skills training to the tune of £6.6m.

Working with South Ribble Borough Council, Caddick Construction as part of the project will create:

  • More than 80 jobs
  • 52 weeks of apprenticeship support
  • 20 hours of support for unemployed people in the borough
  • 120 hours of equality and diversity training to staff and supply chain staff
  • A commitment to donate to local foodbanks.

Councillor Paul Foster, Leader of South Ribble Council said:            

“I am so pleased that we are able to deliver added value to our communities with the new extra care development.

“We have been champions of ensuring added value wherever we can through our projects and were making sure that we deliver real social value alongside everything we do.

“We are delighted to work with Caddick Construction to deliver this innovative social value programme – and its set to provide support and opportunities to many people across the borough.

“Together, we are committed to creating opportunities, fostering inclusion, and building a stronger, more resilient community for generations to come.”

The social value initiative aims to promote positive change and sustainable developments in the borough creating a lasting social impact, developing resources to address key community needs and promote inclusivity.

Key components of the programme include:

Education and Training Opportunities, providing support for skills development, apprenticeships, and vocational training to enhance employability.

Supporting community initiatives and enhancing social unity to create a sense of belonging for the residents of South Ribble.

By collaborating with a social value programme, South Ribble Council and Caddick Construction aim to set a new standard for corporate social responsibility and community partnerships.
