A public consultation will take place on 25 November at the British Commercial Vehicle Museum in Leyland between 5 and 7pm and will seek to gather thoughts on what aspects of the proposals people feel should be prioritised as part of the landmark investment.

Leyland Town Deal is a project where Leyland has been awarded up to £25 million from Government following a successful funding bid.

Proposals for the scheme within the Town Deal include a Leyland Market upgrade, a new Business and Skills hub, town centre regeneration, new commercial premises and town centre living.

This consultation forms part of a series taking place to allow people to see the proposed designs, speak to the design team and share their views on which aspects should be prioritised as part of the investment.

The consultation events will be a mix of public drop-in sessions and specific sessions for invited businesses and interest groups.

Councillor Paul Foster, Town Deal Board Member and Leader of South Ribble Borough Council said: “It is great to see the plans progressing to the design stage and see the ideas coming to life.

“This is a landmark investment for the area and I am so pleased that we are now able to gather the views of residents and businesses about what they feel our priorities should be when spending the money.

“I encourage everyone to come along to the events to have their say and get involved in developing a great future for Leyland town centre.”

The event will take place at the British Commercial Vehicle Museum in Leyland on Thursday 25 November between 5 pm and 7 pm and everyone is welcome to attend.

The Architects, Wilson Mason and Landscape and Public Realm Designers, Lanpro will be on hand at the events to present their ideas and answer any questions.

Feedback will be in the form of a questionnaire that can be completed either at the events or online. The consultation will close on Friday 3 December.
