Pleasure Beach Resort recruiting new Junior Board Directors

11 June 2026

Pleasure Beach Resort is looking for ambitious young minds to step into the boardroom and help shape the future of one of the UK’s best recognised theme parks.

The seaside attraction is looking for new members for its Junior Board of Directors, open to anyone aged 12-16, as the park celebrates its 130th year.

The initiative provides a select group of business-minded youngsters with a platform to influence Lancashire’s biggest tourist attraction, help with decision making and generate new ideas.

As a member of the Junior Board, successful applicants can expect to be tasked with assisting development by providing a perspective on matters such as social media, merchandise, entertainment and events on park.

Members will get a first taste of professional life, meeting three times a year, while having the chance to learn from industry experts and build skills that will stay with them as they advance into their future careers.

Amanda Thompson OBE, CEO of Pleasure Beach Resort said: “We’re looking for bright individuals to join our Junior Board of Directors, particularly those with ambition and a passion for business.

“It’s a perfect opportunity for aspiring young people to begin their entrepreneurial journey and gain valuable experience that looks great on a CV. We want to help build the next wave of young entrepreneurs.”

Pleasure Beach first introduced the Junior Board of Directors in 1995, making them the first theme park in the UK to have a junior team of decision makers.

Tom Seddon was a member of the board over a decade ago, and has since gone on to find success within his own career in governance . He said: “Being part of the Junior Board shaped my interpersonal and professional skills, gave me a voice in Pleasure Beach’s future and introduced me to my best friend, who’ll be the best man at my wedding.

“Without question, my time on the board helped spark my desire to use my own experiences to shape strategies, improve services for others, and ultimately led me to a career in governance.

“Those young people who are considering applying, my advice is, do it, you won’t regret it, and who knows where it might take you.”

Aspiring applicants should apply before Sunday June 28, 2026, through the website: https://www.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com/junior-board/
