Free event: Crumbs of Change: Rethinking Bread Waste. 09:30am – 12:30pm on 18 September
In the UK, around 25 million slices of bread are thrown away every single day (WRAP, 2023). That’s a lot of wasted crusts, crumbs, and potential!
That’s why we’re excited to invite you to Crumbs of Change: Rethinking Bread Waste — a free, half-day event at the University of Lancashire.
Here’s what’s on the menu:
* Insights from the Bread Waste Project (School of Business), including a model to optimise the bread & bakery supply chain
* Talks from external speakers on brewing beer from bread and tackling waste at the retail level
* Networking lunch included
This event is for anyone in the bread & bakery supply chain — from growers and bakers to retailers and consumers — as well as academics who want to explore sustainable solutions.
