Towneley Hall Reopening
Burnley, Lancashire
Expected July 2025
A jewel in Lancashire’s culture crown, Towneley Hall, has been closed for the last two years for repair and restoration work. The work on the magnificent Grade I listed building which dates to the 1400s was required to future-proof the space for generations to come. Returning visitors will see the stark difference in the building, with repairs and conservation carried out on the plasterwork and paint throughout the building to restore the décor to its original character. Repair works have also restored much of the original roof, stonework and windows.
The reopening will see the exhibitions within the museum return and the treasure trove of objects which have been in storage since 2023 will be available to view once again, in addition to a variety of great events. Don’t miss the brilliant Bill’s Teddy Bear’s Picnic in July!
Where to stay: While you’re visiting Burnley, why not enjoy an overnight stop-off at the Crow Wood Hotel, the four-star luxury hotel, and turn it into a spa break at The Woodland Spa.
