Morecambe Business Improvement District (BID) is rolling out an app that allows patrons in the Hospitality, and Food & Beverage Industries to order and pay for their food and drink straight from the table, without the need to go to the bar or receive table service.

John O’Neill, Manager of the Morecambe BID, said: “Recent reports coming out of Government circles suggest that an app such as ROUND, the one we are introducing, will be compulsory to use before customers can be served. The more outlets that use the app, the better for all as it will save people having multiple apps on their phone. I have it on my phone – it’s quick to download and setup”

ROUND is a business providing a “pre order, order to table, payment and marketing app” designed for pubs, coffee shops, restaurants, and other Food & Beverage venues.

Round enables businesses to be able to keep their staff and customers safe and able to return to providing their goods and services in a cost effective manner by enabling a pre-order and collection service, or in time order to table service, including integrated payment, where the customer orders from their own phone and service staff don’t need to have close contact.

In short, the offer to businesses when they sign up through Morecambe BID is:

  • Upfront cost of £1000 waived for BID businesses
  • All hardware supplied free (Tablet)
  • Set up, menus, logo and branding all provided
  • Marketing materials all provided, table talkers, posters etc)
  • No upfront costs for independent stores
  • No monthly fee

  • Transaction fee of 4% per transaction (3% if signed up before the end of June)
