Tourist board designer worth its salt

22 September 2008

Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board member, Lake Design based at Hale in Cheshire, has been making food and drink news by picking up two major creative Chips at the coveted Chip Shop Awards 08. (Oh and a little vinegar to go with them). Recognising pure design thinking, these national awards aim to highlight those creative agencies who bring a unique, individual angle to the industry. Lake was awarded a Chip, for Best Use of a Shop Window Postcard titled ‘Good Job’, and also won the Chairman’s Award, with lots of praise, for the same ‘Good Job.’ The chairman this year was the world renowned design guru, Michael Wolff who said “Their idea was so quick and so immediate. It was fresh, it did a ‘good job’ for the client, it was authentic and it just stood out.”

Lake is also in the running for a Chartered Institute of Public Relations award, in conjunction with the tourist board, for designing the board’s 2006/07 annual report. The report has been shortlisted for Best Publication at the CIPR North West Pride Awards in November.
