Winners in the North West Contact Centre Awards 2015

Pendle Council’s Customer Services Team is on cloud nine after their boss scooped the title of Contact Centre Manager of the Year.

CallNorthWest’s 10th annual North West Contact Centre Awards took place at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester on Thursday October 22.

The North West Contact Centre Awards are all about recognising the achievements of individuals, teams and organisations within the Call Centre Sector.

And Vicky McGurk, who has been Customer Services Manager since April 2014 beat off competition from across the customer service sector, including banks, utilities and supermarkets.

Pendle’s Customer Services Team, which is run on behalf of the Council by Liberata, was also a finalist in Contact Centre of the Year. 

John O’Neill Solution, Director at Liberata, said: “This is a great result for Vicky personally and for the wider Pendle team whose hard work contributed significantly to the win.
“Vicky manages a team of 36 staff across four sites on behalf of Pendle Council.

“This award is testament to the great work she has done in developing the team and delivering a high level of customer service to the citizens of Pendle.”

Councillor Mohammad Sakib, who has responsibility for Partnership Services for Pendle Council, added: “It’s fantastic to see hardworking staff recognised for their efforts – well done everyone!”

Pendle’s Customer Services Centre is responsible for managing contact with more than 80,000 residents and is pivotal to keeping them informed about key public services. 

Dean Langton, Strategic Director, added: “Congratulations to everyone in the Customer Services Team.

“I recently spent some time with them and got an insight into the diverse range of calls they handle every day.

“I went away very satisfied with the service provided to our residents and this award is recognition of this.”
