Help us save our industry: Sign our petition

By the time the tourism industry opens it will already have lost four months of trading. Social distancing restrictions will limit opportunities to recoup losses, with additional costs of PPE and other measures, and before we know it winter will be upon us again. Guaranteed Government support for the industry through the winter, confirmed now, is urgently required.

Thats why Marketing Lancashire is joining Destination Management Organisations from across the country to back a campaign encouraging government to ensure the tourism sector is supported through Winter 2020.

Rachel McQueen, Chief Executive of Marketing Lancashire, said “We have been very grateful for the government support made available to date, however, too many of our businesses are still falling through the gaps and some have already sadly had to close. We have to secure a longer term package of support to make sure that all the effort these businesses have put in to weather the initial storm isn’t simply wasted as they struggle through the winter.”

With your help let’s make this campaign gather national focus and get national support from politicians, industry and visitors.

Please can we ask for your help. Will you sign our petition and share the link and our social media posts with your staff, suppliers and customers. Together let’s make our voices heard and help save businesses, jobs and services. #savetourismjobs
